Quiz Night Success!

The Whitchurch Community supported the Beechtree in great numbers on the 22nd April 2022, as we re-started our first Quiz Night since the forced closure of the centre due to the Coronavirus.

It was lovely to see so many people together, each playing within a maximum team of 6, with all proceeds benefiting our Charity, the Whitchurch Community Services Association.

Heather Ridgway created  the questions for the evening, and Christopher Ridgway was elected as Quizmaster for the evening. All winners prizes were donated to the Beechtree, as was the desserts, by Heather and Christopher, and Cafe Voodoo. We would like to say well done for such a great night, and a sincere thank you once more for all of your time and support.

During the quiz, time was given for Lisa and Rose,  to bring through the Fish and Chip supper, which looked and tasted amazing, and had many great feedbacks along with the desserts offered. Well done to you both, you were fantastic!

We are very pleased to announce that with all of your help, you helped to  raise £354! This is an incredible amount, in such little time, and makes a world of difference to us. We cannot thank enough, each and every person who supported us this night. Your contributions will allow the Beechtree to continue raising its profile and placing on further activities for our community in the near future.

Thank you to the Beechtree staff for all of there help and assistance in the weeks leading up to this night. The night would not have been made possible without you.

There will be  further Quiz nights announced in the near future, so please do keep an eye on our social media accounts.

Until then, stay safe, and know that the Beechtree is always there for you.

Easter HAF 2022 – Day 4

After a great week of activities, the Easter HAF programme came to close on day 4, but what a fantastic week it had been for the children in the Whitchurch community!

The session was led by Ang, our Tutor, and supported by Linda of the Beechtree and Emma of the SYA.

The children had a great time cooking, using Easter shaped pasta pieces to make a delicious lunch, that they ate at the midway stage of the activities. Incorporated in this session there was lots of learning about fruit and vegetables, and how important they are for our health. Many questions were asked from the children surrounding this and with the weather on side, play time was announced outside where hula hooping, dancing, and floor drawing were all completed.

The Beechtree are very proud of all of the children who attended the Easter HAF programme 2022. It has been a pleasure having them with us, but this would not have been possible without the support of their families, our volunteers, Beechtree staff, and SYA. Parents/ Guradians, Sarah, Kim, Linda, Ang, Fee, Emma, a sincere thank you to all.

On the back of such a successful programme, the Beechtree will be applying for the Summer and Winter HAF programmes in the hope that these can be ran again soon, starting August 2022.

Please keep an eye on our social media accounts as all of the information will be uploaded for you to  join us once again.

Happy Easter!

Easter HAF 2022 – Day 3

Another very enjoyable day here at the Beechtree for Day 3 of our Easter HAF Programme.

This session led by Emma of the SYA, and supported by our Volunteers Kim and Sarah, was spent exploring the outdoors, drawing, playing football, painting stones, and talking about how we should all be kind to one another.

The photos below give us a great insight into how much the children enjoyed the day, and will undoubtedly remember this day for a long time.

Lets all continue to enjoy the sunshine, support one another, and look forward to the next session of the HAF programme.

Easter HAF 2022 – Day 2

Day 2 of our Easter HAF Activities at the Beechtree!

Led by our Volunteer Ang, and Supported by Emma of the SYA and Linda of the Beechtree, the children completed gardening duties, and was educated on the importance of garden care for our wildlife.

We planted sunflower seeds, plants, painted pots, made tower structures from marshmallows, and went on a scavenger hunt looking for lots of insects! As you will see from the images below, there was lots of things going on!

We truly appreciate the support, and trust, given to us by the Children’s families, and we hope that you have enjoyed hearing from your little ones, each day, of what they have been doing with us.

Food this day was a lovely Chicken Dinner, with fruit and nibbles provided throughout the session.

We are looking forward to Day 3’s activities which will be an extremely fulfilled, physical, day of entertainment, and we look forward to seeing as many of you as possible at the Beechtree.

Should you wish to donate to the Beechtree, please contact us on 01948 258 220, or use the links provided on our fundraising website page. Every single contribution, however big or small.

We wish to thank Fee and Emma for their support, and we look forward to the rest of the week, where we will be gardening, cooking, and  doing lots of fun physical activities.
