We have many activities on offer which will help promote good health whilst being enjoyable at the same time. Why not try out Walking for Health or join our Community Gardeners or if your mobility is a bit more restricted – our Extend Exercise group.

Walking for Health

Whitchurch Walking for Health scheme was launched way back in July 2004. The “Walking for Health” initiative aims to get more people walking in their own communities and has been described by health experts as “almost perfect exercise”.

Walking Football

Tuesdays 2pm in the Sports Hall in the Civic Centre. Walking Football has really taken off recently. Players come from all walks of life and are making new friends and getting fit at the same time! We are always looking for more players. Come and join us!

Move it or Lose it

Move it or Lose it is an excellent choice of affordable exercise for older people and those with a disability to challenge their fitness levels. The classes provide gentle exercise to music. Sessions are held Tuesdays 12:30pm – 1:30pm.

Healthy Eating

What you eat affects how healthy you are and being healthy is much, much more than not being ill! Sessions are informal so bring a notepad and your sense of humour. 


This project started in May 2013 when work began clearing ground. We’ve come along in leaps and bounds and there are now a number of edible plants growing produce that is being used in the cafe.

Badminton, Boccia and New Age Kurling
