The Young Men’s project enjoyed healthy eating on Wednesday night. Back by popular demand the group made BBQ Beetroot Burgers!
This year the Young Men’s group have worked really hard to promote health and well-being. Young people have taken part in various healthy cooking activities and enjoyed discussions about diet, health, body image and the risks of smoking and alcohol.
The young people said the Beetroot Burgers were great! In addition, we feel that it is vital to provide young people with a safe stimulating and educational place to socialise and have these discussions so that they can reach their full potential.
The Young Men’s group meet on a Wednesday night 6 – 8 pm at the Beechtree and is for ages 12 – 18.

We are hoping to start again in the Autumn. Details will be posted here when finalised.
We and our children are suffering the consequences to our health of generations of bad eating habits and misinformation. 30% of children aged 5+ in Whitchurch are overweight or obese! We must discourage consumption of junk, fast and processed food and encourage more natural eating habits by setting the example ourselves. We can make positive differences to our whole life by giving our body what it needs.
What you eat affects your mood, energy and your resistance to infection. It can help fight disease and promote good health. You don’t have to radically alter your life-style – there are hundreds of small changes you can make to improve the way you feel mentally and physically.
These hands on cooking sessions give you the opportunity to prepare, cook and eat/take home a different delicious meal each week in an informal atmosphere. The aim is to suggest easy, simple, alternative meals that don’t stretch your budget or take all day to prepare.
